With several areas in Malaysia being put on lockdown, the public is beginning to wonder the differences between MCO, CMCO, RMCO, EMCO and other control orders.
If you’re unfamiliar with the control orders being implemented in Malaysia, below are the infographics explaining the different control orders.
On 7 October 2020 announced three districts in Sabah and one district in Selangor will be undergoing a 14-day conditional movement control order (CMCO) starting from October 9 as they are Covid-19 red zones.
The government said that Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Putrajaya will be placed under Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) effective midnight Oct 14. Check out the latest updates regarding the third wave of Covid-19 pandemic.

The government has decided to implement the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) at the Kepayan Prison and the Prisons Department quarters in Kampung Matambai in Sabah from 20th October until 3rd November.
The government enforced an administrative Targeted Enhanced Movement Control Order (TEMCO) on the Alor Setar Prison from 6th October to 1st November.
Four Sabah districts – Lahad Datu, Tawau, Kunak and Semporna, are placed under TEMCO from 29th September until 25th October due to the rise in COVID-19 cases.
As of 7th December 2020, the CMCO ended on December 6 in most states in Peninsular Malaysia, but certain districts or pockets of areas where CMCO will be extended and still be in force until December 20th 2020.
